Seattle Trip Part 1 of 4

We started out our trip Friday really early. By 1 AM we were in the car, on our way.  By the time the girls were stirring and ready to have breakfast, we were most the way through Idaho.

We stopped at a really cold road stop to have our pre-made breakfast and were quickly on our way again. Oregon and Washington are really pretty. We loved seeing all the water and trees.

We figured out that we forgot to take into account the time zone change when we calculated out timing. So we were making really good time when we realized we were not going to be able to check into the condo for another hour, so we stopped at another road stop to kill some time.  They has gigantic trees and forests surrounding it, and the girls had a great time exploring.

Will and I went for a walk  and we saw this as we walked the wrong way up the road. It would be a good visual for a church lesson.

We finally got checked into the condo and relaxed. The condo had a lot of windows and a good view of the ocean.

The next day was a relax day. I decided I wanted to go on a walk and everyone decided to come with me. We walked along the ocean with the tide out and explored all the cute little shops and had ice cream.

Sunday we went to church at the local ward and just spent the day catching up on some much needed rest.

Monday we decided to go find Canada. It was only about 10 miles away from where we were staying.  The girls were all nervous about going across the border. We thought it was hilarious.

There is Vancouver in the background.

We didn't really have a plan. But we found a spot to park, and walked along the harbor. There was a couple of cruise boats parked there and there was an air-boat take off area. We also got to the see the Olympic Cauldron.

Then we found an English Pub for lunch. Will had us all try out Poutane. We all liked it. We also got to see a couple of the world cup games being played.

Next we went to Bradley Park. It is an island that is about 15 miles in circumference. They made it into a park with walking and biking trails, the aquarium, and all sorts of cool things.

After that we headed back to the US. We got stuck in traffic for an hour, but the border crossing only took a couple minutes. So we decided that we liked in the US better.

Tuesday was another lazy day so I went with the girls and visited a couple quilt shops in the area.

We also played Xbox and swam in the pool a bunch. This is sunset from our room.
