July Excitement

We have had a very busy July, and it is not quite over!

First, I put a quilt in the annual Bountiful Handcart Days. I didn't win any awards, but it is fun to have a quilt in a show.

For the 4th of July, we went to the Cul de Sac of Fire with the Vowles family. It was cute, short and fun.

Alana played with my phone for most of it.

One night Alana wanted me to put curlers in her hair. I told her not tonight, so she went in the bathroom and wound her hair around a comb. She thought it was so great so she came out to show me. We then spent the next hour trying to untangle the comb from her hair.

Naomi wanted to try to make something by making her own recipe. I convinced her to do some research first. She looked at recipes for cake to see what they had and we talked about about each ingredient. I then let her create her own cake recipe. It turned out pretty good. It was just really dense. But she did a good job! She is excited to try again.

With all the wild fires going on around us, it has made for some amazing sunsets.

The girls and us participated in Slurpee Day. They thought that was the best thing ever!

Will has had a desire to grow his own mushrooms, so for Father's day, he got a mushroom growing kit.  We were very excited with the results. Will added the mushrooms into one of his awesome meal of real ramen. They tasted like scallops to me. They were so delicious!

Alana is a big fan of selfies. Especially snuggle selfies!

We are always very excited when the baby chickens start producing tiny eggs!

One day at the stop light we had Lightning McQueen next to us! It was awesome!!

The girls have been doing more swimming lessons. They have loved being in the water so much. Naomi has progressed to level 3. Alana is at level 2.

For Handcart Days, we had loads of fun played at the park with all the fun rides, games, and yummy food!

Then we watched the parade and Fireworks with Grandma K and Grandpa Bill.

We had to wait patiently for the fireworks to start.

The girls have recently discovered the joys of the rock walls at the Rec Center. They are really good at it!

We again participated in the annual Dutch Oven Cook off. Will and I made Peposo Beef with rice and the girls made Raspberry Bread Pudding. The girls won 2nd place in the dessert category! They were so excited!!

This month has been so jammed pack full of fun things! And it is not over yet!!
