During September, we have been working hard getting back into the swing of school and work.
I found these cute gems of Alana. This one is during carpool.
And this one she took of herself.
We had a master plan to redo the chicken coop. So we took a couple weeks and worked really hard on it.
We started by cleaning out the shed. We took out all the glass from the windows and replaced them with wire fencing. Then we tore down the old coop and used pieces of it to make a new coop inside the shed.
We also made new nesting boxes that would hopefully keep the eggs cleaner and away from the chickens.
Then we build a fully enclosed and covered run. This is great because it protects them from the raccoons at night and I don't have to go out every morning at 5:30 to let them out and 10:00 every night to shut them in.
Since they are spending more time in the run, out patio is staying a lot nicer!
We celebrated all our accomplishments (and my birthday) by eating out on the patio for the first time! It was lovely.
Also this month, Alana tested for her blue belt in Taekwondo. It has been difficult getting her to practices because we have been spending a lot of time with Grandpa Dave, but she rocked it!!
She is super excited for this belt because it is her favorite color.
Naomi is deep in rehearsals for the upcoming school production of Frozen, Jr. She gets to play Young Elsa.
Also, we had our primary program in our ward this last Sunday. It was Naomi's last primary program. I think she is super excited to be joining Young Women's at the beginning of the year.
We have been knee deep in peaches. There hasn't been a lot of time to bottle them so we have been drying and freezing them. They are so yummy!
The apples are ready to be picked too. This is my first experience having our own fruit tree. It is so exciting! Will decided he wanted to try and make an apple pie with a lard pastry. It turned out super delicious.
And since we were making pastry anyways, he made a pot pie too! Super delicious also!
Such a fun month!
